Individual Therapy
We know how intimidating it can be to meet with a therapist for the first time. Whether you’re new to therapy or you’ve worked with several therapists, we’d love to see if we’re a good fit together. Your comfort is of the utmost importance to us and we prioritize our clients feeling validated, understood, and heard. That being said, we’re also not afraid to challenge you and we want to help you consider alternative perspectives. You can expect that we will frequently check in with you to assess how therapy is progressing. We keep your goals at the forefront and we will both help you heal while motivating you to grow.

Couples Therapy
Whether you are dating, engaged, newly married, or at a crossroads in your relationship, we truly enjoy helping couples make values-based decisions that allow each person to feel fulfilled in the relationship. We integrate discernment therapy that focuses on helping couples make intentional decisions, including deciding about the status of the relationship (getting married, breaking up, divorcing, etc.) and whether or not to start a family as just a few examples. We also practice Emotionally-Focused therapy that helps couples process in the here-and-now while understanding the dynamics that may be interfering with their emotional and physical closeness. We are also certified in Prepare/Enrich and enjoy utilizing this assessment in our work together to help you gain greater insight into your relationship.

Family Therapy
If you are experiencing distress with your child/parent, your sibling, or even in a friendship, we would be happy to support you as you enhance communication, work through tension, and establish greater closeness in your dynamics. It takes courage to lean into these conversations and we have great respect for clients who are willing to do the work to improve their closest relationships. We take a fair, open, and direct approach so that all parties have an opportunity to share their perspectives.

EMDR
So many of us will experience some type of trauma in our lives. Some experiences may not feel upsetting for some, and for others certain events can be debilitating. Do you find yourself avoiding specific people, places, things, or memories that cause you distress? Have you tried traditional talk therapy and haven’t found any relief from flashbacks or nightmares? If yes, then EMDR may be the right treatment for you. EMDR integrates visualizations, neurobiology, grounding techniques, and attachment theory to minimize the effects of trauma. We cater to each client’s specific needs and make trauma-treatment accessible for children and adults. More information on EMDR can be found here.

Play Therapy
As adults, too often we lose the ability to relish in play. Children need play to interact with peers and adults, explore their environments, and develop their brains. Play in the therapeutic space is a direct way into supporting children with regulation and establishing trust with a therapist. Whether therapy is addressing bullying, loss, behavioral concerns, or anxiety, we can integrate play in a meaningful way to build children’s self-esteem, social skills, and improve frustration tolerance.

Teen Therapy
Adolescence is one of the most transformative periods of life. Individual identity, self-esteem, peer relationships, and belief systems are all forming during our teen years. We acknowledge these transitions and meet each teen client with compassion during this period in between childhood and adulthood. Sometimes teens can be hesitant to attend therapy; we have experience engaging teens in an honest and non-judgemental way which invites clients to open up and share with their therapist.
