Therapy Groups

Our therapy groups offer a supportive community where you can connect with others who are facing similar challenges.

At Heartship Psychological Services, each group session is guided by experienced mental health professionals. We will assist you in gaining self-awareness and enhancing your well-being, all while building meaningful connections with fellow group members who understand what you're going through.

Hopeful Beginnings: Pathways to Parenthood

A support group for women who are struggling to conceive and are feeling alone or hopeless. Led by a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training and certification in perinatal mental health.

Infertility, defined as not being able to get pregnant within a year under age 35 and 6 months over age 35, effects 10% of women. Infertility often makes women feel like they are broken and can be a deeply isolating and shaming experience. Stress, depression, and anxiety often accompany infertility and can worsen as time goes on. Infertility can cause distance in relationships with family and friends, result in financial difficulties, and strain your relationship with your partner. This group is a safe and supportive place to find hope and healing as you navigate fertility challenges and find your own unique path to parenthood!

    • Learn evidence-based skills from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help cope with fertility challenges.

    • Gain awareness of unhelpful thoughts to find freedom from limiting beliefs

    • Practice acceptance of difficult emotions like anger and grief to release suffering

    • Cultivate self-compassion to soften and soothe your pain

    • Focus on what is within your control and identify ACTions you can take on your path to parenthood

Most pregnancy & postpartum support groups are for mom only, but you are becoming parents together! Find support as you navigate the transition to parenthood in our weekly support group for couples whether you are pregnant and preparing for a baby or up to a year postpartum. Having a baby is one of the biggest stressors on relationships with major implications for relationship satisfaction. In fact, Dr. John Gottman, a researcher on parenting and relationships found that on average there is a 67% decline in marital satisfaction in the first three years after having a baby. However, it is possible to lower relationship dissatisfaction by addressing potential disagreements and preparing for what's to come. Normalize the difficulties and find support as you navigate this transition together! Find more joy and less stress together!
